The Litfest North-west
Landscape and Wildlife Photography Competition

After some fantastic submissions in 2023, our Wildlife Photography Competition is back, but in a different format as the Litfest North-west Landscape and Wildlife Photography Competition.

The 2024 competition will be judged by Mark Cocker, author of One Midsummer’s Day; David Kynaston, author of A Northern Wind: Britain 1962–65; and Steve Thomas of Creative Studio, Lancaster University.

Up to 30 photos will be selected from those entered to be displayed in an exhibition at Gallery in The Storey for the duration of the festival. There will be two categories (adult and under 18), and the three winning photographers in each will be able to choose a signed hardback copy of either David Kynaston’s A Northern Wind or Mark Cocker’s A Midsummer’s Day.

How to enter:

  • You can submit up to 3 photographs (min. file size 15MB) to [email protected].
  • Please use the subject heading: Photography Competition.
  • For large files, we recommend you use WeTransfer, the free large file transfer service.
  • Entries must be submitted by midnight, 3 March.
