Queer Storytelling —Workshop with Queer by Gum
Saturday 15 March 2pm–4pm
Location: The Reading Room at The Storey
Following on from the very successful workshop and evening event at Litfest 2024, Queer by Gum is back with a new programme!
For this year’s workshop, we’re joined by guest facilitator, Maz Hedgehog – writer, performer and editor working in the spaces between real and unreal, poetry and theatre, self and other. Maz says: ‘My poetry is interested in relationships, in bodies, in why and how we tell each other the stories we do.’
The workshop is designed to create a space to share stories and experiences through a variety of activities pivoted around creative writing and performance. It will be followed by an evening of queer music and poetry at The Gregson Arts and Community Centre, headlined by Maz Hedgehog with an opportunity for workshop participants and local LGBTQ+ writers and musicians to perform their own work and share music and experiences
To register for the workshop, please apply to [email protected]. If you are unable to take up your place on the day, please get in touch so that we can allocate your place to somebody on the waiting list.
Tickets for the evening event can be purchased on the door or from the Dukes website.
Queer By Gum CIC is a Lancaster-based queer community organisation and creative collective. Facilitating regular clubs, workshops and events where the local LGBTQ+ community can create, connect and organize.
